A seminar on Swami Vivekananda & Value Education was organized by the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, New Delhi

A seminar on Swami Vivekananda and Value Education was organized by the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, New Delhi on 24.8.2014 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Seminar Hall of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. A very pertinent note was set in the welcome address highlighting the fine distinction between information and knowledge, and the importance of the right kind of education that increases knowledge. Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission presided over the function and delivered the inaugural address. In the second session, the teacher-moderator and the student-moderator shared their thoughts on what is taught to the students today.  Session three had two leading professionals focusing on Value Education and its Utility at Work. Others also spoke on the need to connect philosophy and professionalism, and above all to be aware of one’s situation in society and how to contribute to it. Question-answer interactivity post each session kept the proceedings of the entire day dynamic and vibrant. The seminar concluded with Pravrajika Vivekaprana, Secretary of the Delhi centre answering questions put by the audience, and the vote of thanks.
About 500 delegates attended the seminar; educationists from all over Delhi, including vice chancellors, university professors from AIIMS, IIT, JNU and IIC, administrators and academicians.

The General Secretary laid the foundation stone of the new dispensary building at the Gangarampore

The General Secretary laid the foundation stone of the new dispensary building at the Gangarampore centre on 27th August 2014 on a gifted plot of land adjacent to the Mission campus.  Many Sannyasinis and devotees were present.

The General Secretary inaugurated a library ‘PR. Mokshaprana Smriti Sadharan Granthagar’

The General Secretary inaugurated a library ‘PR. Mokshaprana Smriti Sadharan Granthagar’ for school and college students at the Baladbandh unit on 29th August.  About 90 students, a few local people and devotees from Kolkata attended the function.

Inaugurated a multipurpose hall “Sarada Vihar” at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Guntur

The General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission inaugurated on 3.9.2014 a multipurpose hall “Sarada Vihar” on the 2nd floor of the primary school building of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Guntur. Later, she addressed the devotees on Holy Mother. The function ended with a cultural programme by the students of the school. About 150 were present and partook of Prasad.
127 candidates of Vivekananda Vidyabhavan appeared at the B.A. Part III (Honours) Examination 2014. 15 secured First Class, while 108 passed in Second Class.

The Industrial section of Sister Nivedita Girls’ School held its annual exhibition of various handicrafts from 31st August till 4th September 2014, while exhibitions were also held at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Ashrama at Entally and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Kanyapeetha at Dakshineswar on 30th & 31st August and 6th, 7th & 8th September, respectively
