A youth retreat for girls was conducted at the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Guntur on 5th February 2015 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in which 225 girls participated.  Dr. T.G.K. Murthy, Retd. Scientist of ISRO addressed the students on the topic “Tap Your Potentials” and explained the subject with the help of a power point presentation.  There was also a question answer session after which a video on Mangalayaan (Mars mission of ISRO) was shown.  Pravrajika Bhavaniprana, Secretary of the centre and Sm. Sarada Murthy also addressed the students.  Books on personality development were gifted to all the participants.

 

The Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Gangarampore centre (1990 – 2015) started on 6th February, 2015

The Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Gangarampore centre (1990 – 2015) started on 6th February, 2015 with special puja, chandipath, homa, bhajans etc.  There was a public meeting and Revered President Mataji blessed the celebration.  Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary gave a brief account of the history of the centre.  About 5500 partook of prasad.

 

A seminar on “Vedanta in Everyday Life” was organized by the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, New Delhi

A seminar on “Vedanta in Everyday Life” was organized by the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, New Delhi on the 14th February, 2015 at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.  More than 300 delegates participated comprising of eminent speakers from the government and academic world, students from JNU, IIT and other educational institutions, students of Vedanta, devotees etc..  The theme of the inaugural session was “Vedanta as the Foundation of True Values” presented by Pravrajika Atandraprana, Asst. Secretary.  This was followed by other talks on different aspects of Vedanta.  The concluding speech of the inaugural session was delivered by Pravrajika Divyanandaprana, who spoke on “Deriving values from Vedantic knowledge”.  Pravrajika Bhavaniprana, President of Sri Sarada Math, Guntur was the Chairperson of the first session and spoke on “Fearlessness in Vedanta”.  The concluding session of the seminar was on the topic “Practical Vedanta” with Pravrajika Vivekaprana, Secretary of the New Delhi Centre as the Chairperson, who spoke on “Maya in Vedanta”.  Each session was followed by a question and answer session with the speakers.

 

The Vivekananda Educational Complex of the Matribhavan was inaugurated on 26th February, 2015

The Vivekananda Educational Complex of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matribhavan at 29, Sree Mohan Lane was inaugurated on 26th February, 2015 at 9 a.m. by the General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission.  W.B. Govt. officials and other eminent persons were guests of honour.  This four storied complex will be used for the School of Nursing and also for the training of Sahayika Sevika, Community Health Services and other vocational training.  Workshops/seminars for medical/nursing professionals, Doctors’ conferences and also health and hygiene awareness programmes along with value based education will be conducted in the Community Hall of the said building.  About 300 persons attended the function.
