Obituary

Pravrajika Akunthaprana (Dipali)

We regret to record the passing away of Pravrajika Akunthaprana (Dipali) age 77, on 7th June, 2015 at 12.30 midnight at the Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan due to cardio respiratory failure.

Diagnosed with cancer in the abdominal region, she suffered also from many other ailments. On 6th June night, she developed severe breathing difficulty for which she was admitted to Seva Pratishthan and on the 7th evening put on ventilator.

A disciple of Swami Yatiswarananda, she came to stay at Nivedita School in 1963 and remained there as a dedicated worker from 1966. Having obtained the Lady Brabourne Needlework Diploma, she also extended help in the Industrial Section of the School, though mostly worked in the kitchen. She was transferred to the headquarters in January 1983 and was initiated into Brahmacharya in December of the same year. In 1991, she was ordained into Sannyasa by Pravrajika Mokshaprana, and remained at the headquarters, serving mainly in the kitchen till 1998. In 1999, she returned to Nivedita School, where she remained till the end.

Jovial by nature and always ready for hard work, she will be fondly remembered for her love to feed the inmates and the devotees. May her soul rest in eternal peace!
