National Youth Day and Birthday of Swami Vivekananda was duly observed at the headquarters.
12th January – the National Youth Day, was observed at the Headquarters as every year, with a procession around Dakshineswar area and a meeting at the Math premises. About 1200 students and teachers from different schools of the locality participated. All of them partook of cooked prasad sitting.
The 153rd birthday of Srimat Swami Vivekananda was celebrated at Sri Sarada Math on Sunday, 31st January, 2016. In the afternoon, there was a ladies’ meeting presided over by Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary. Pravrajikas Bhavaprana, Satyamayaprana and Sm. Kusum Bhattacharya spoke on the life and teachings of Swamiji.
In connection with the concluding celebrations of Swamiji’s 150th birthday, ‘Vivek Mela’ was organized at the headquarters from 1st to 3rd February.

National Youthday celebrated at Sri Sarada Math Valsad
A half-day spiritual retreat was organized at Sri Sarada Math, Valsad on 10th January in which about 80 devotees participated. Pravrajika Amalaprana, General Secretary conducted a guided meditation, after which she spoke on “Spiritual life for householders” for about an hour. Cooked prasad was served to all.
12th January - the National Youth Day was duly observed at the Valsad Math with musical band march-past, Vedic chanting and speeches on Swamiji by the students, a documentary on Swamiji etc. About 250 school girls participated. Pravrajika Amalaprana gave an inspiring speech for about 45 minutes. The programme ended with distribution of prasad.
